for bass spinnerbaits, ratltraps, cranks, topwater, and i've started using soft baits trying to get the hang of them. for cats just stinkbait on a treble hook with slip bobber about 4 to 5 feet under.
i usually fish 3 to 4 times a week i dont know everything but i think i know a lot like i said when i'm on the boat i have no problem just the bank.

ya i know ray hubbard pretty well i grow up around the lake and its the closest so i almost always go there. and on the weekends im in my uncles boat.

I fish two to three times a week for crappie, and I have had the worst luck this year. I have caught only one 8 inch crappie all spawn. The weather had them all messed up this year. Don't let it get you down, catfish season should start firing up pretty good. For catfish this time of year, I would go all around the rocks at Robertson Park. (Where the Texas Queen is) We fished everyday last year, from sunrise till we had to go to work, and we got our fair share. We where fishing about six feet off the bank with CJ's punch bait two feet under a slip cork. Fish around trees that hang over the water.

well guys, let me tell you, its really all about the shad right now. i have been wearing out the sandies and hybrids lately,as well as the cats. and have caught a few black bass as well. you gotta fish the shad under bobber like you have been doing only, target the rocks and busted up concrete type structure. its very deadly method. also a shad on the bottom is killer..., from just about any point, that juts out into the lake. i use a 3-way swivel with a 2 ounce weight and about a 3/0 hook with a 20lb. leader. i got a 32 lb.er from shore about a week ago, shad are running about 5-45am. till about 6-30am. right along the shore-line allmost every morn., get a cast net-throw net and put a bunch on ice(they stay fresh longer that way)and take em over to the rocks by the dam, float em about 3-4 ft. deep, bout 4-10ft. off the rocks. if you dont get bit in 5-10 min. move down just a bit and try it again. oh yea, DONT SET YER POLE DOWN, give it a try, i am not messin with ya. let me know how many you catch....

IF you want to just catch some fish I suggest using small GULP worms on a size 12 hook with NO WEIGHT on 6# line max. at the TEXAS QUEEN cove, bream are everywhere now in that area.I use a trout rod with small spinning reel and wear them out from 2nd week in MAY until OCT(basketball season starts up).Catfish are a bonus as well as the occasional LMB her also.NOTE:after catching a few move down about 20 ft. and work your way up and down the rocks, catching a few in each hole and coming back.

How do you get to the Dam on Hubbard, off Lake Ray Hubbard Dr? Is their parking? Can you catch shad in the same area?

Trying to catch a few fish in and around McKinney. PM me and join me.

Where are the rocks by the dam that Funfishin is talking about? I don't know a thing about Hubbard.

I've been to the RH dam once a few years ago and it is very difficult to fish from the bank. The water gets deeper very gradually so there is no real dropoff. Robertson Park (35 exit Dalrock) is the only spot I know with any kind of potential. An added bonus is that if it gets slow, a few hundered yards away is the Texas Queen where you can try for some crappie or bluegill. I've also heard good things about fishing off Miller Rd. but haven't been there myself yet.
