I live on Lake Athens, get out frequently in the afternoon, sort of fish until it begins to get dark.
And, I haven't done it yet but when I go into Tyler, I drive down 317 then when it dead ends, I turn north to head into Chandler to pick 31 up. I want to try fishing near that bridge going into Chandler on Lake Palestine. There's a nice ramp off on the side of the south side of the bridge. Looks like a great place to kayak fish up around there, tough in a boat owing to all the stumps.
I love an advantage!!!
Finally, I'll post it if we get it together but several of us here and on FB talk about making a trip out to Naconiche, always lots of fun. That will likely happen in late September or October once it cools off again a bit. Weekend trip.

Brad You are talking about Kickapoo creek on lake palestine. I have gone up there several times. I like going there when the water is low and you can see all the stumps plus boats cannot get in there when water is low.
Lets go fishing
