Over the last month, my topwater bite goes dead with an hour of daylight left. What do you guys throw as evening fades?

Hour left of sunlight this part of the year is usually prime frog/topwater time for me.

Lots of variables; but during low light transition times of the day; I�ll tend to reach for a moving bait that puts off vibration�crank, bladed jig, or spinnerbait.

Been my go to as well but these days it just seems like a switch is turned off. I think the local bass are weird.

Last week I got on one of the best top water bites I can remember on Alan Henry. The further we got.from shore, the bigger the fish.

Caught a few spots pushing 4 lbs in 62 ft of water on top water. Was the first time I've ever caught several overs on that lake fishing for schooling fish.

I've been trying to catch a dang fish on a topwater frog for decades never once got a bite lol. Did catch a frog on one though once ironically.

Before my bite dies, I've been having good luck with a Teckel Sprinker Frog. Might give that one a try. My hook ups were shaky so I bent the hooks up and away from the body which seems to have helped.

I like a local neighborhood pond to learn all the different presentations of a tough bait. When you find out the cadence, big splash, little splash, hop 3x quietly or go super aggressive mode, you will start to love your frog more and more.

I like to fish ponds to learn the fundamentals and techniques of my baits and build confidence so that when I am out at the lake throwing 20 minutes I don't get discouraged because I know what I have experienced before.

Is this a new drug the hipsters are taking now?
