Do any of y'all have any experience with hard bed covers? Do you like the folding type? Retractable? Pros and cons of either type?

If you ever want to carry anything that sticks up over the rails, the full hard covers are a hassle. I like the idea of the ones that roll up and retract, but just don't like the look of the setup where it sits right behind the cab like it does.

You sold your boat, sir at a desk with your feet up, and dont haul anything anyway. The Ford Edge would be a good choice for someone with a growing family like yours.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

I have a BAKFlip MX4 on our F150 and we love it. We also have the Bed Rug in to keep everything from sliding around and to cushion your knees if you get in the bed to do anything. You can buy one for less than $700.00 if you know where to look.

I was going to get one. Then I realized it would prevent my empties from blowing out.

I love a bed cover. I have had the full fiberglass hard shell, I found these too hard to remove( took two people , better with 3) and stuff was hard to retrieve if it slid forward. On my last two trucks , I have had the 3 part folding. for me , much handier , for tall items , just fold up and secure, if you need the full bed , I can remove it in 5 minutes by myself.
good luck

I have had a Bak Flip on my F150 since I bought it in 2012 and love it. Easy to open as many sections as you need. Very secure when you fold it flat for complete security. I don't think I will ever own another pick up without one.

Anyone ever used one of these "soft toppers"? I saw one going down the road the other day and it looked pretty handy. Seems like it would be easy to put on/take off for trips where you would actually need it. https://www.softopper.com/softopper

Men don't drive trucks with bed covers. And men have scratches in the bed of their truck.
