Had the pleasure of camping and boating here over the holiday weekend. Thought I would report my first trip ever to this lake.

Friday. Dropped a jig onto some fish I marked. Within about two bumps I hooked into a fighter. As a matter of fact he dang near spooled me three times. When it was over I measured him at 22.5 and fat fat fat. After that it was fish after fish but nothing even close to that size.

Saturday. Fished from about 9-3. Fished same area and the fishing was very consistent. Almost everything I caught was between 18-21. Ended up with about 30 catches and multiple losses at the boat.

Sunday. Tried jigging again for an hour or so but they werent having it. Was marking more fish on the finder than the other two days. Decided to try and troll for some bites. Oh brother was that the right call! I just had to roll through this one area and it was a guaranteed hookup. Almost all fish were 20+ .

I was a little concerned about the reports of a massive fish kill here. That may well have happened but it seems to me the bigger fish definitely survived and are thriving. I marked bait almost everywhere I scanned.

Surface temp was 75-76 and water depth for catches was 14-16ft

WHAT PART OF THE LAKE DID YOU CATCH YOUR FISH ? SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT TIME . GOOD TO KNOW THE BIG FISH SURVIVED.

Great report! We definitely have what looks to be a bumper crop of 4-6# hybrids. A couple weeks ago we ran in to same thing as you did. Found a good concentration of hybrids but couldn't get em to bite until tried trolling and it was fish on every pass. Great job

I was there Monday morning and caught a couple chasing shad early, but not many, then ***POOF*** they were gone. I have never fished for these dudes before and I tried cranking some points, but never got another bite.
