there are huge carp at the city park close to main and galloway .also i saw a guy caught a kitty about 13 inches long . i went there for the first time about 2 weeks ago and caught a carp about 2 ft long on a pice of albertson brand wheat bread made into a dough ball ( dont use any other barnd , they dont seem to have enough oil to stay on the hook ) .there is a pont on 1-30 and northwest ( about 2 blocks south of ther ) never tried that one , samuels farm on 80 and beltline ( never have got a bite there the few times ive tried it ) , and there is a small pond on groos and 635 about 3 blocks east of there and to the right ( never fished it tho ) w/r/j

That pond at Northwest and I30 has a bunch of dinks. Someone told me that they drained it a few years back and refilled it. According to the guy that told me that, they didn't stock it till about two years ago. But give it a shot, we use to catch 4 lbs catfish out of that pond. There may still be some swimming around there.

Don't overlook any small creek in MESQUITE,most hold many fish(I catch catfish over 10lbs in these overlooked hotspots!I have 3 that I fish early morning ,before the wife and kids awake, and get home with donuts and they aren't aware that I even went fishing without them(Heaven Forbid).BEWARE of snakes and make sure of good footing ,I fall in sometimes now and then, this only reminds me of a close friend that I lost a couple of months back .

Ruby SHAW pond is MESQUITE is great for bream and LMB,catfish are caught by casting towards the fountain.I fish for the bream using 4lb line on small spinnig rod and reel.Ultralight tackle makes it fun here.I use GULPS worms on a size 12 hook with NO WEIGHT,watching the line to twitch and slowly setting hook easily by raising rod tip.I prefer high vis line(Wally Marhall yellow line from Bass PRO Shop 6lb)The key is NO weight on a small hook,Gulps worms are from Walmart(I use the brown ones that look like small earthworms, using about a third of the worm)

Ruby Shaw is located off Kearney and turning left on Purple Sage, you will see the school Shaw Elementary, turn left on WILDFLOWER Ln. go about half mile and on right will be the pond with a fountain in the center of it.The area lies between BELTLINE Rd. and 352(Collins rd) in Mesquite, about a mile from MESQUITE HIGH SCHOOL

What about the big lake off Northwest Drive in Mesquite. On the map it looks like it is named Palos Verdes Lake.

I've fished City Lake for carp as I hear there are very rare linear mirror carp. ( Carp with a single row of scales along their lateral line ) Didn't get any that day, but it was way to hot to begin with lol.
If you catch the mirrors, take pictures and post them for us, and then put the fish back quickly, as those are very rare carp.
