This is the report from today's [4/5/19] Athens Daily Review: ATHENS Water level is four inches high and clear. Water temp in the low 60s, upper 50s.

Bass fishing is good to six pounds. Lots of fish on beds, hitting Texas rigs, Senkos, jerk baits and Chatterbaits.

Crappie are good around docks in 1-5 feet using shiners and jigs under a cork.

Buddy and I plan to hit Athens tomorrow. Long drive from Dallas and I would greatly appreciate any updated fishing reports.
Kind regards - Ken

Get with Flags over on the Bluegill forum here on TFF. He fishes Athens a lot.

Fishforken, here is the Lake Athens report from the Athens Daily Review 5/30/19...

ATHENS Water level is four inches high and fairly clear. Water temp is in the low 80s.

Jim Brack says bass fishing has been good around brush piles in 25 feet using jigs. Lipless cranks, Texas rigs and frogs are the best bets around grass beds and pads. Crappie are good on brush piles in 20 feet using jigs.

As doctorxring states, you can check also with Flags. He has a current post in the bluegill section of TFF.

Hope you catch a bunch!!

This particular theft occurred at a private residence in Athens, not at Lake Athens itself.

Lake Athens has a pretty good safety reputation.

Still, certainly use caution locking up your gear, on Lake Athens and everywhere else.

Brad
