Fellas, what are y'all using? Found this at Academy. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/ma...one-case-110829750#repChildCatid=4207289Last thing needed is to have our cell go overboard, and with this I can have it around my neck. Maybe add some foam, so if you turtle it'll still float. I've already added portions from a fun noodle to my fishin rod's, as well as the handle on my tackle box.. Should probably add some to my paddle as well.

I bought the same one but haven't used it once. My phone is supposedly waterproof but I don't want to test it out. I usually keep my phone zipped up in the pocket on my PFD since I do use a couple of apps while I'm on the water.
You get out of it what you put into it!

I also use similar phone cases from Academy. They are pretty air tight so I leave some air in it so they will float. I use my phone on water for photos, navigation, navionics maps etc and I just loop tie the lanyard to my PFD (NRS Chinook) and put the phone case in the front large pocket. I did not like the weight of the phone on my neck or phone dangling so putting it in the pocket felt better to me. Seems my paddle floats (Hobie paddle with composite shaft) - not sure about other types of paddles. So I just tie the paddle with a leash: https://www.amazon.com/YYST-Adjusta...;qid=1558537580&s=gateway&sr=8-8I found this leash to be the best and can be used as a rod leash too. I leash the plano tackle box onto my seat. For freshwater or inshore fishing I normally do not leash my rods but I think putting on rod floats is great idea. It'll be cumbersome to use a leashed rod, I imagine.

Paddle leash is a must. I just put my phone in a ziploc bag and carry it in my pfd pocket.

I can attest that they will keep you phone dry. I like that I can still take pictures through it. I am thinking of getting one with waterproof headphone jack.

My phone is "waterproof", which means that it will probably survive a few seconds in a few inches of water. So, my biggest fear is sinking to the bottom.
I haven't put it all together yet, but I finally assembled the parts... I bought a cheap $5 case off of Amazon and plan to clip a foam key float to it. The foam float should work, but I first need to test it to make sure it will float the weight of my phone.
Once tested I will use a very small clip and connect the foam float to the cheapy phone case via a 3" to 6" nylon string. This will allow me to drop the phone in my pocket while the foam float hangs outside my pocket.
I'll add a few pics once tested and assembled.

I use that same case. Just store it in a hatch and use a bluetooth around the neck. I drowned a phone years ago when I first started.

The cheaper ones will sink. The better ones do not.

I have the LifeProof FRE waterproof case and the LifeProof lifejacket which makes it float. LifeProof discontinued the Lifejacket but they can be found on eBay. It is pretty bulky so I only use it while on the water.

I found one by No Limits at Academy that works fine. My phone is an odd-sized Samsung, and the No Limits one fit it. About 8 bucks. It will fit into one of the zip pockets on my NRS Chinook PFD, and the lanyard hooks into one of the clips. Very satisfied. IslandJim

My phone is supposedly waterproof also. I use a waterproof box, it holds lighters, cigs, keys and phone. I like this setup because the phone bags get dirty inside and that makes for bad pics. I am always careful when taking pics on the water. My box has a clip so its secure in the kayak. My phone does also have an otter box protective case,,,doesnt help any for water but does make the phone very grippy even with fish slime.

I usually go with the polythene bag, didn't find any problem with them... I am curious about other options too?

It floats my phone
