 Tried a New Spot on Athens

Decided to try a new spot on Athens. FM 314 cuts across an arm of the lake and there are about a dozen or so boat houses there. Always wanted to try it. So I loaded up the tube and set off. As soon as I got afloat I noticed it was shallower there than where I normally fish. I ended up with quite e few gills but most were small in the 3 to 4 inch range. I did get 4 or 5 good fish with the biggest aboutb10 inches or so. Also had one big fish wrap me on a piling and breaking off. From the way it fought I am pretty sure it was a cat.
All fish were taken on a baited jig hook and all were released. Tomorrow I will hit one of my regular spots.
