I was at the lake yesterday going through some grass and my trolling motor stopped working. I brought it up and removed the grass but it was as if it were not getting any power. Do you think i burned the motor up? Just wondering if there is a reset or anything you guys can think of. I know this has probably happened to someone and before i take it in wanted to see if i could get some feedback from the forum.

Thanks Guys!

Ernest

Ernie did you check the breaker on the battery? It could be one that has to be reset or it should auto reset itself. Or it could be a fuse on the battery. I would check that first.

then take a look at the socket where the motor plugs in - those get corroded sometimes, need to be took off & cleaned up. Same with foot control switches.

What kind is it? I had that problem with my MG. Took the top off and discovered a wire had come loose. Took me longer to get the cover off and back on than it did to fix it.

It is a MG. I'm going to look at that as well.

Thanks!
