Made 6 large crappie trees out of PVC and concrete and set them all in a 50'x50' area. Was wondering how long it takes crappie to find the cover. Thanks.

Not long at all It all depends on whether you took the time to rough up the PVC with sand paper and allow for algae to form on your trees. If you skipped this process it will take longer

I've put 7 of them out on RR on a Saturday and caught them the very next weekend. I have a friend who lives right near Broken Bow, he found a huge log floating down the lake after some huge rains three weeks ago, he drug the tree out of the main body into a cove in shallow water, came back by there 3 hours later to make sure it wasn't floating off again and his graph lit up. He dropped a jig and started catching crappie.

Usually 2-4 days but sometimes only hours. I have built many out of pvc and have never sanded any of them Algae will grow on them in a few days but the fish don't care either way The fish are there to rest, not feed. when they want to feed they leave the brush and chase shad. (my opinion)

(my opinion) Yeah but Algea will GROW QUICKER if sanded & if there are small forage fish around there will be some preditors come around to take advantage (my opinion). At least that`s the way the roll on my home lake.

(my opinion) Ernest, right on point. On my Livescope, I see the tree loaded with fish, but hang the bait 1-2ft above it, and the agressive ones come out to eat. Tim

If it is in the right place, it only takes a couple of hours.

Not long, maybe a day. They move around at night, so usually one night is enough for them to find it.
