I grew up watching him and always enjoyed his shows. He was by far my favorite as a 10yr old kid

I remember when he first started catching everybodys attention. He made underhand casting popular, I do not remember the numbers. But he had calculated how many more cast per day that you could make using the under hand cast. When fishing a crankbait or spinnerbait,it was critical because the number was a few hundred more cast. Im pretty sure it was 76 or 77 when he started making noise and drawing attention nationally.

Moving spots without completely fastening his life jacket(8:00 minute mark of video)? Kids these days! Disqualification? JK. Gets around and sounds pretty dang good for competing @ 74! Gives me hope! GOAT? I don�t know about that but definitely one of the greats!

Someone bought me his book years ago and I still refer to it often.
Anyone who has won multiple AOYs is an all-time great. I'm proud of winning AOY in my bass club. LOL.

Always enjoy his shows and a great guy to talk with in person and a master at the underhand cast. When they had fishing shows at Big Town Mall, at his seminars he would be talking and flick a spinner bait out and drop it in some ones lap. You couldn't even see the motion it was so quick.
