400 hours on a 2011 boat, is that that a lot or about normal?

80 a year is average bass boat use. Id much rather have a maintained 400 hour motor than a 80 hour neglected orphan.

Ive heard it said that 1000 hours is like 40,000 miles on a vehicle.
Im with Pat... would much rather a ten year old motor with 500 hours than a five year old motor with 10 hours.

How the owner took care of the motor matters more then hours. Maintence logs are important.

I sold a 1999 200 hp optimax with 800 hours on it. The man uses the motor every weekend from the past three years. Still runs like a top.
