I am curious if anyone has fished for perch around the Cypress trees in the Caddo State Park. I know it is closed right now because of rain conditions but would like to go camp and fish there as soon as it re opens. Any help info or advise will be greatly appreciated...

It has been a few years since I was there and it was during the winter with storms so not the best conditions, however we did fish on the pier in Mill pond. We caught bluegill, redear sunfish, and catfish on worms. We didn't catch anything of any size but there are big ones in there. We caught the fish just as you go on the pier next to the bank. Caddo is an amazing place if you have never been there. You can catch some unusual fish like bowfin and pickerel. There are big bass and lots of catfish.

Usually Cypress Trees that are close to a waters edge hold some sunfish especially during the summer and fall months. Also fish the shaded areas during the morning and early evening hours.
