Can you expand on that please? Yes. Ocean water and stuff. Just keeps getting better. Sure makes me want to go back!

In Hawaii any catches made are the property of the boat

Not all, there are a few that let you keep your catch. But, what are you going to do with 3 yellowfin? Take back to your hotel? We just said keep them.

Oh no, there was no way those fish were getting thrown back. Either we kept one, or they were sold to the market. Most all boats there are commercial fishing boats. You just pay to be a deckhand really. We caught 3 100+ pound yellowfin tunas that day. The captain made a nice check I'm sure!

Yellowfin tuna is highly sought after by the Japanese. It commands high prices...especially on New Years Day.

Are you asking me what I did with it? Thats me with the charter captain (Jude Schwarze) in Kauai. In Hawaii its customary to have all caught fish stay with the boat. They will typically give you enough for a couple of meals, but the fish stay with them. In this case, the captain kept the marlin bill and has it on his mantle...everything else went to market.

You think it could be the biggest fish ever caught by a TFF member?
Caught by....because in my opinion, all the credit goes to the boat captain. Its not like I studied the fish, knew where they hung out, what bait to use...etc. We were trolling, the line makes a huge noise as it snaps out of the holding thing. All I did basically was jump in the chair and start fighting. Helluva fight though!!!

Talk to your charters in advance. You can keep your fish.
