Headed to Austin tomorrow for a couple days and wanted to hear your favorite places to eat Texas BBQ. I remember somebody a couple years ago talking about a great place there but it was lunch only. Thanks for your help!!

Franklins but you better be in line by 8am. There is also La Barbeque
Or drive 20 mins to Lockhart for: Kreuz (damn good) Smittys Blacks (I wasnt impressed but most love it)
Then theres City Market in Luling, Snows in Lexington or Louie Mueller barbecue in Taylor, all not far from Austin. The first person who suggest Salt Lick, punt them in the nads

Franklin BBQ is the one only open for lunch. Very good and VERY crowded.

I go to the Meshacks in Garland. I'm unaware of an Austin location.
Which part of Austin are you going? Lots of good BBQ in Austin now (the best two already mentioned above--Franklin and LA Barbeque)

Are you going to go watch the bats come out of the bridge? If you do, if you could catch me a couple that would be great.

In Austin proper it would be Franklins, but La BBQ and Valentinos are both close or even as good. Mickelwaits(spelling?) is very good
