How many of you serious Crankbait fishers remove the split ring and go with a snap? I had a guy tell me he gets a little more action out of his baits with the snaps. Haven't yet had time to experiment with snaps.

Used to do it, but went back to fishing regular way or even w/o ANYTHING on the tie. I catch more fish using nothing than with the split ring. You would be amazed at the increased action you get by tying direct to the bait, taking the O-ring off and just tying to the bait itself. Didn't hear it from me, but that is one of my secrets. Seems to catch bigger fish, too, do NOT know why, but records indicate that it does. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I use both. Doesn't matter to me one way or another.
I love the smell of two stroke in the morning.

I tie most of my CBs directly, not a loop knot, not a swivel, not a snap. You would be amazed at how many fish I catch doing it that way. Discovered it years ago, a slight secret of mine, or used to be. Hope this helps. OH, I tie a modified improved clinch knot. 11 times around, back thru the eye twice and almost NEVER break a knot. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. May be just something different, but it works for me.

I've tried all 3. A clip is nice because you can change baits quick to figure out what they want. Don't know if any is better than the other, but imo retrieve speed and cadence is what gets your bites.

I agree with Bassin 4 a Livin. CADENCE and eratic retrievals puts more fish in the boat than a straight retrieve. I try to give the fish something different than most people are throwing, thus tying direct and eratic retrieve speed, distance and cadence puts more fish in the boat than not. Hope this helps.
