Use the nuts then tape them with the electrical tape and call it a good!

I have installed thousands of them. Just use the good stuff. I use Ideal brand. I have been known to twist my wires and then wirenut it just to be sure, but you are not supposed to do that. Just tighten them very well.

I’ve never seen one fail.

In irrigation I've used these for underground connections and never had an issue. I do add a zip tie just below the wire nut to help keep the wires from separating.

WAGO's like in the video above suck.

Wirenuts are trustworthy, Just twist your wires together prior to installing the wirenut. Use a pair of Klien Journeyman pliers to twist your wires.

tha way ta go.. a "name brand" like ideal, scotchlok etc... installed properly, 100's of millions are still holdin' jus fine……….. crimp with tha blade connecters, although popular, suck

Non insulated butt splices, cremo both ends, fill the hole with solder and heat shrink the butt splice
