My brother is going hunting in Montana and has a chance to fish some mountain lakes for trout. He will be using a break-down ultra light spinnning rig. I know this is not fly fishing but maybe someone might know what type of lures or bait he could use. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There are a ton of cool little spinner baits on the market. Probably the best thing to do is to get in touch with the outfitter or some local shop and see what the folks that way are fishing. But if it comes down to it, there are big value packs and variety boxes of a lot of different spinners. Maybe some jigs too.

i would use the smallest kastmaster in gold, 2-4 lb test. that is 1/8 oz i believe. spinners are good but spoons are better for me. i also like little cleos, but it has a larger profile. he will need an assortment, because trout are picky, and one color will outproduce another. reminds me of bass.
so much water, so little time
