Haven't been to Palestine in a while and was surprised at the amount of scum/algae at the ramp. Have only been fishing the lake for 6 years but it was the worst I've ever seen it. Wondering if this is normal and if it hurts the fishing. Caught a few small ones but the water just didn't seem right and it was like this in a lot of the 3 mile area I covered.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Over the years I have seen it that way quite a bit. Not every year but most especially the North end and sometimes Flat Creek as well. I have never known it to hurt the fishing any, other than limiting what baits you used.

Thanks Jody, may have been that I'm normally fishing other lakes this time of year. I was at Kickapoo ramp.
