Here is a video I made showing how to clean your boat carpet with shaving cream. It works well to remove stains from dye, coffee, oil and anything else you may have in your carpet

Anyone know if the shaving cream affects the carpet glue, I know most surfactants will make it release. i can understand for the coffee stain but that dye will fade out in the sun after a few trips, no reason to clean it with anything but water to dilute the smell initially... if its the garlic scented one.

Thanks - I doubt I would have voluntarily put the yellow dip on my boats carpet for a YouTube video. Youre a brave soul!

I'm not impressed. The shaving cream seems like a waste of product. Just use a carpet cleaner. Heck, water alone probably removes most stains.

I just go to the car wash and power wash it on the rinse cycle. Don't use the soap because of the glue. $5 and it does a pretty good job!

Quick question. Why not use carpet cleaner?

I wash my hands with Cinnamon toothpaste and gets all the fish smell off my hands. Really works good when carfishing and getting that slime or stinkbait on your hands

Everybody always worries about carpet cleaner making carpet glue release.
The times I've replaced carpet, I couldn't get the glue up with release agents, much less carpet cleaner. If your carpet comes up when you clean it, it was about to blow off and land on the car behind you at 70 mph!!!!!
Thanks, Billy

One more reason I'm digging my bay boat more then my old bass boat. 10 minutes with a pressure washer in the driveway and the whole boat is clean.

Well I've been shaving with carpet cleaner for a while now and I can tell you that this works both ways.
