Lowe's has them now . They're labelled as an ornamental (along with the smaller variety) but the label states "2 inch peppers".

Their flavor reminds me of chipotles and their heat is somewhere between Serranos and Habaneros .

I might have to pick one up and try it. The box stores and especially my local nursery has really stepped up their hot pepper game the last couple years.
