Hi guys,
Do you use a drop shot rig for white bass fishing in deep water? I tried two days ago on Lake Livingston at ~20-30 feet, but my trial was not very successful. For my drop shot, I used white and chartreuse curly tailed grubs, #4 hooks, and ¼ oz sinker. I know drop shot techniques, but I have never used it for whites. Water in the lake was very stained these days after rains, and a small silver jigging spoon worked little better. I love drop shot fishing and would greatly appreciate for any specific recommendations regarding drop shot usage for white bass.
Thanks,
Bob

It will work. You might try some Zoom Tiny flukes on the hook.

Thank you for your reply, Reeltexan. I've ordered this bait. I think that brownish water after rains was the main reason of the failure. I'll try again later when water will be clear.

I use the drop shot technique, but instead of a weight on bottom I use a storm jig or something similar and then something scented like a powerbait minnow above on the drop shot hook. its not exactly a drop shot, but fished identical. You'll catch a lot of doubles with this.

Thanks, Bogden. I have 1/4 oz jig heads and will try them next week with drop shot hooks as a tandem. Now whites are very good on Livingston.
