Okay ill say it..Im Rodiebob and im addicted to crankbaits..I learned along time ago, you will lose them..If you dont you are not doing it right..

Depth is the number one factor, Along with the line, and of course the rod..I use a castaway medium 6-6 for 6ft and less, 7ft cranking stick or and old gatorback for 10ft or more, 15 pound pline floro coated coz 12pound diameter and gets me another 1-2 ft deeper.. For baits that run six foot or less square bills , coffin bills, and rattle baits..One other tip and dont hate me for saying it..Jointed crankbaits run through cover extremely well...learning how to walk square bills and jointed baits through brush and timber is a skill.

Unless your friend isnt willing to lose Rapalas, DD22s, or Other 8-15 dollar baits in the pursuit of losing fish at the boat, or having them jump and spit them at you, or rapping you up in brush, please disregard the previous text...
