12 People, 3 guides. How do they calculate the fine. Surely this has happened before. Is this going to be a 500 dollar fine or 5k fine. I would think it would be pretty steep.
You can pretty much bet this was one of those limit in the morning, limit in the afternoon deals and they ended up with a lot of fish.
Thanks, Billy

Thats gonna be expensive, I saw the ticket for a guy that was busted up on Texoma for a bunch of ducks over the bag limit, it was enough to buy a new truck! Ducks would be a Federal crime and more valuable per violation. I think crappie are $25.00 per fish, still adds up. Try $250 Sweet Baby Jesus
I'd Tack That!!

I’ve fished in Oklahoma with a guide and I think the limit was 37. If I’m not mistaken Louisiana doesn’t have a limit? I know when I fished in Oklahoma there wasn’t a size limit, just 37 crappie. In no way am I condoning it, the Texas guides should dam well know the limit. The limit on crappie in Louisiana is 50, but no size limit.

News article said instead of charging them for every violation they just gave every person a class c misdemeanor. So wont be much fine or consequences for such a blatant act. Even said they were caught after an investigation so they knew it was happening or happened more than once.

18 counts each for the guides. 14 counts over the limit 4 counts for undersized fish. They got off easy

Way too easy. BUT, what is the price for their reputations?
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

They will be back fishing the next day. People know they can catch fish, so they won't miss a lick. Good chance most people booking with them will not even know about this incident.
This is not the first time a guide has been written a ticket.
Thanks, Billy

Way too easy. BUT, what is the price for their reputations? They probably have to hire extra staff to keep up with booking now!!!
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

This is not the first time a guide has been written a ticket. Yea. They should have got hit worse on the guides. For what it cost to pay those fines they will make that up easily

In the minds of many , negative press is better than no press ! Therefore, these few will profit and return to their ways.

The fine should be enough to get their attention especially the guides. Think the guides should get a very stiff penalty, loose their license for a minimum of a year and give back to the fishery by game wardens confiscating their electronics and making The gps coordinates public information. In addition the guides and their clients should have to build 208 brush piles (one for each illegal fish) and those GPS coordinates also be published to the public for starters
