Hey TFF. I am a looong time member at the THF and just bought a Kayak and want to get out and fish. I know PFD, learn the Kayak feel before I even attempt to cast a rod. I am no hurry and have owned four boats in the past. Here is my new money pit....lol. It is the newer one. I was searching for so long and had so many feelers out there the used one was a great buy as well. I will be selling the tan camo one, just have to wait till I get enough post count, I assume. Both are 12 eagle talons. Great beginner kayaks minus the seat. Just wanted to say Hi and looking forward to the ideas and posts here. I used a $25 PFD. from Academy for yearsworked well enough
The NRS vests are really nice but significantly more expensive, but worth it for the comfort and quality

Academy sells a rebranded Onyx PFD called the MoveVent. I haven't seen one in person but on paper and in the photos it looks like a great option in its price range.

Welcome to our world!  I just want to warn you that this kayak fishing becomes an addiction, and you will soon own a fleet of kayaks along with plenty of gear!  I noticed by your post you are already on the way!  It's not a bad thing, this addiction of ours!

Welcome to the game!
Kayak fishing is just the best. You will enjoy it. You got the right mindset; safety first as there are real dangers in this sport and we do read too often about our brothers drowning while on a yak trip.. but get you a nice PFD, learn from those more experienced and then fun and fishes! And like tall grass said...accessories are fun ha ha.

Do you have any idea how much you might want to ask for the tan kayak once you get your post count up?
I only ask because auctions and bidding are not allowed on the TFF so I would feel uncomfortable making an initial bid offer of $100 on behalf of my 12 year old son.
