So I am looking to upgrade to LI batteries. Did a search but most info on here was 4-8 months old.

Anybody got one recently? I am looking for at minimum 12 AH size. 15 would be better. Draw on FF (that I haven't purchased yet) will be .8 ah per hour on low and max of 1.2 ah per hour. I figure that size would give me 3-4 short trips or 2 long ones without recharge. Also charger recommendations.

Thanks.

PS. I have a Helix 7 SI for sale in Kayak classifieds if anybody is looking.

I pulled the trigger on this one. I was looking for bigger AH but one I looked at on amazon said 1-2 months shipping time. Oh well. I have too I can buy another of these kits.

I have the Nacqua 10AH battery and really like it.
Powers my Lowrance Eite 7 TI with tripleshow transducer for over 8 hours. I have not been out on water longer than that at any one time since getting the Nacqua.
Light and small enough to hang of the front of my kayka seat so do not have to find room for it or run cables everywhere.
Easy to connect to my finder at home to replay the log files.
Wish it was a little cheaper but if you can afford it very convenient and has the power I need.

So I originally bought two of the 9 ah batteries for my new kayak, but after a little research returned them both.

This is what I think that you are after: FPV Power

I'm no battery expert but those SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries, can't be drawn down the full 9 AHs. You can only partially discharge them or you risk damaging the battery. The Lithium batteries can be draw down to much lower rates and bounce back just fine. They also have many more charge cycles in their life span than SLA batteries. Something like 400 cycles versus 2000 cycles. I considered the Dakota line of batteries, but the FPV Power stuff looks like the newest wave of what I want.

I plan on putting one of the 17.5 AH batteries in the new yak. The price looks like serious sticker shock, but when you look at all of the numbers, it's still the best price per AH.

Good luck with whichever way you go for your needs.

I run FPV batteries and never run out of power. My FF is a GPSMAP 840xs and I have a Power Pole Micro, plus I have LED lights at night. I don't think you can beat FPV batteries. You can pick them up and everything needed to rig them at Mariner Sails.

Ive been using a 16aH LiPO4 14V drone battery purchased for $80 from hobbyking for a couple of years
Lasts 12-14 hours continuous use

Had to get creative with making a diy terminal connection and diy flame resistant dry box

I use a $16 IMAX B6 charger to balance charge

I am considering (and by considering I mean I have virtually no chance of deciding not ) getting the FTV 17.5. Probably more than I need though will be running an Elite-7 Ti2 w 3-in-1 Active Imaging transducer. Have any of these fish finder lithium batteries had issues with spontaneously bursting into flame like other lithium batteries?

Ocelot

When yours is charging can you feel if charger is warming up a little. Mine charged 1st time and now I cant get it to charge. I tried charging for 24 hrs and still not fully charged according to charger green light. FF says 10.8 and my meter says 11.2vdc

I have this.. can't beat it.. here is review on it too... if you are doing 1.2 then you will get about 17 hours on this battery. it is light and water proof. trust me on this... i run my fish finder and nav lights. it is super light. Cost is up there but I was tired of getting cheap that i have to make work.
