I started planting St Augustine plugs yesterday in my trashed out yard. Did I do the right thing? Should I have put down sod? Should I have done a controlled burn?

Thanks in advance. Have a kickarse early summer.

Did you eat a can of Hormel chili and drink a Heinie beer afterward? If not, the grass will probably die....

Bill, do you also know the proper time to begin fertilizing after sod-plugging? Should DX2 wait till the first harvest moon? hmmm

Here's what I did. My lot was part of a cow pasture with pecan trees. The grass was mostly native Bermuda, along with some Dallas grass and crab grass. The yard was disturbed around the building site. I got a pallet of Saint Augustine and laid it solid. I treated the Bermuda with a product called Namate. Not sure if its still available but that gave me solid Bermuda in those areas. I started a five year plan to sprig the Augustine. I had solid Augustine in 10 years.

If I follow this prescribed course of action will it also result in a cool looking dog like that?

The pictures of the food that Oxner likes to post are typically one notch above dog throw up.

Am I seeing things, or did oxnerbot 5000 post the same photo twice in the same thread?
