the few white crappie in the bunch were quite a bit thicker than the black crappie, most had eggs, not even near ready to spawn. small egg sacs. I couldnt tell you what the water temp was, I dont even pay attention to it anymore. tracking water temp has never paid off for me.
if you look for enough excuses as to why you didnt catch fish, you will surely find them.. just fish,.!

How deep where they ?

over and in brush 12 to 14 feet,, I fished the bank across the lake from the boat ramp, the ramp thats not in the cove. must be 275 brushpiles in a 2 acre area, getting ridiculous.

if folks continue to put a brushpile every 10 feet on tradinghouse , its going to ruin the fishing,. same thing happened to lake granger.. you have to fish 50 piles to get 12 fish.,. it scatters the fish too much.
just add more brush to the existing piles. or put piles where there are none, like the dam.

tradinghouse is a great option when waco is trashed, waco bought the land and are making improvements, bathrooms, parking, picnic benches ect..its going to be nice.
many folks want to go put small "personal " piles, that they think nobody else can find, so they can have thier own little private spot to catch fish.. with the sonar we have nowdays, it can ALL be found, because even if I cant see that one piece of pvc pipe in your wifes old plant bucket, I can see the fish. I will find it, as others will too. its up to us, what kind of crappie fishery we will have,, 12 fish on 50 piles, or 50 fish on 12 piles.. u decide

I agree areas with a lot of brush gives the fish a lot of places to hide and scatters them also.....

thanks SK, and the fact that these lakes are small, 4,to 5 thousand acre holes, its a problem. once its finally ruined, then folks will see. I used to love fishing lake Granger, now it makes me want puke knowing how it is.

Are you talking about the bank close to where the tpwd marked piles are?

If you stand on the boat ramp that is not in the protected cove, (the second one when you enter the park), and go directly across the lake, there is a long bank, and at the end of the bank a cove, then old pier pilings.. start at the point near the cove, and fish towards the dam. all along that bank.
