Well, the good sized white bass are moving back into the lake - at least from the Clear Creek arm. On Thursday I caught 90 in about 3 hours and yesterday I caught 25 at one spot in an hour then quit. These are mostly 13 to 15 inch fish with a few 11 - 12 inchers mixed in. They are in 9 to 19 fow on main lake points and humps - 60 Acre Hump, Flagpole Point, Swing-set Hump and Saint Annes Point East. These are on my map. I am only trying #4 silver Mepps Aglia plain and they are working - either lifting it up and down under the boat or casting to the fish like in my video linked in signature block.

I went as far north as Carolyn Estates Point Thursday looking and found none. Water north of Crappie Island still murky. I suspect fish are coming into north part of lake, but with murky or muddy water, you would have to find them really shallow to catch them on artificials.

Water temp is 60 to 62 degree and main lake.

4/13/2019 Update: In the last 7 days I made 4 scouting trips and found fish (limits) at Swing-set Hump, Flagpole Point, Saint Annes Point west, Saint Annes Drop-ff and along the eastern edge of Crappie Island Flats in water 13 to 15 fow just as it starts to drop off into the deeper water. Another trip looking north as far as Kevin's Point and Key Ranch North still showed no fish. If anyone has fished Spillway Hump and spots north of it in the past week, please give us a report. Catching my fish on #4 silver Mepps Aglia spinners mostly fishing straight down lifting bait up to make it spin and letting it fall back to bottom, and some by casting away from boat like in my video in signature block. .

4/23/2019 update: The lake is still not clearing up. The Clear Creek fork (somewhat clearer) and the shallow areas just south of Crappie Islands are yielding some fish. Yesterday I went out twice with a family member each time. We caught 50 white and 3 short hybrids at 60 Acre Hump from 8 to 10 AM and 40 whites and 1 short hybrid at Pitts Point from 3 to 5 PM. We were in 9 to 14 fow water in both places. We really need the lake to clear up to open up more structures.

4/25/2019: Well, I finally made a run up north going as far as Bird Islands just south of the Gun Barrel to Seven Points bridge. Observations: The farther north I went the murkier the water - getting muddy at Bird Islands. The good news is that fish have moved back into the lake form the north. I caught fish at Spillway Hump, the Tennis Courts and Sunken Island. At Spillway Hump I could catch them in 15 to 16 fow and at Tennis Courts and Sunken Island in water to 8 to 12 fow. I could see fish in deeper water - mostly 13 to 17 fow - but with the water so murky I couldn't get them to bite due to such low visibility at those depths. I caught mostly whites 12 to 14 inches, a couple of short hybrids and several yellow bass. I was positioning my boat right over the fish (except at Tennis Courts) using a Mepps #4 lifting it up and down slowly form the bottom adding some jerks between lifts. At the Tennis Courts most of the fish were from a school I saw in 8 fow. There I was able to cast to them and catch them on the retrieve up from the bottom. Didn't see any schooling fish. Fish showed up well on the structures using side-scan and sonar.

4/26/2019: Fished the dam area today and caught 100 in 2 hours. Fish are in 10 to 15 fow just SE of Dam Drop-off.

4/27/2019 report: Well I went back to the dam area where I caught them on Friday and they were not there. I looked all around the 2 spots including Dam Drop-off but nada. So, I started checking the traditional structures out from the dam - the theory being that the fish had just come back into the lake and had come to the dam area in general, i.e. they had not gravitated initially to the usual structures but perhaps now were starting to do that. So, I checked Dam Ridge - not there, then moved east to Campbell's Hump and it was loaded. I caught 30 in about 40 minutes. Then went to check out East Dam Hump and the shallow ridge just off the shore from the west side of Star Harbour. They were not at East Dam Hump, but the shallow ridge was covered along a 40 yard strip. I caught a few more then quit, leaving them still biting - like at Campbell's Hump. Water temp now 67 degrees F.

Thanks Dennis! Will probably give some humps a shot on Sunday. Caught mostly little males last weekend, and one legal hybrid. Looking forward to light winds this weekend.

As of Thursday May 2, in spite of the milky water, they were still biting in shallow (8 to 13 fow) on main lake points in the Clear Creek arm. Fish ARE in the lake. But the muddier the water the shallower you have to fish. Thank goodness fish are in shallow water.
