Yup.. On day 4 I would have been calling him asking what the deal was.. If he says he's tied up in another boat and it's taking longer than expected, cool no hard feelings. But 14 [censored] days?? Bro, I would have went and picked that [censored] up on the 5th day if I wasn't notified of anything

Same. I have no way to know how busy they could be so I'd call and ask. Maybe he had something crazy pop up and will be out of town or something who knows.

I just dont get the business model repair shops work under!!!

If someone wants to make a killing, open a shop that actually schedules work and gets it done on schedule! None of this "we have to hold it for 2 weeks, but we'll get to it when we get to it" stuff! Just put some planning and effort in the "customer" service.

THIS is why I have driven past 3 other shops (multiple times) to take my boat to Chris at Lakeside Marine Specialties in Alvarado. He can work by appointment so that when you drop off your boat he gets working on it right away. He doesn't pull this [censored] like Cabela's where you drop your boat off and it takes 3 weeks before they even look at it. This alone should demand higher fees but he is a really good guy and frankly doesn't charge enough. His shop is on the water so he can test things out when needed. He is also a tournament bass angler so he speaks our language and knows what you need.

I planned on going by his shop yesterday or the day before but my work schedule is very inconsistent and causes me to be up at odd hours. I do plan on paying him a visit as soon as I get the chance. Boats been gone for too long!!

Why not pick up the phone, call the repair facility and ask for status on boat. Then plan your next move from there. I would have done that several days ago......

A little bit of advice here, before you go pick it up and take it to another place call and make sure they can do better. While there are other places that do repair work not all may do what you need done. I know for a fact repair shops are short handed. Call some of the other shops that have been recommended on here and see if they can help you and in a timely manner. It's tough being without a boat I know cause I've been there. I learned using youtube how to do a lot of repairs myself and not only saved money but kept it in my garage and out of the weather and had it ready to use.

A phone call is the easiest thing to do in any business.
Busy or not.
I'd have picked up my boat on day 6 without that phone call.

I understand issues during the repair that are out of their control. Technician gets sick and is unavailable. Parts on backorder. Parts not received correctly. All legitimate and out of their control. The ONE thing they have absolute control over is communication. If you can't communicate with me then i have no faith in their ability to do what they say they can do.
