Very short trip Sunday afternoon. 3-5pm. Tied up to a few trees along the shore in Twin Coves and fished 1-5ft deep with minnows. Worked about 100-200 yard stretch of shoreline about a third of the way back into the cove. Caught one fish-a sandbass. No other bites. Water was muddy and high. Tough when a live minnow won't get bit.

Water going up and down will do it every time. Dont be surprised if the lake is 5-7 ft high by this weekend

It will be at least 5 ft high by the weekend. It's unfortunate for sure. Looks like I will be driving east for the next few months again bang

Weather models showing up to 5 inches of rain here by next weekend. I am afraid to say it is looking like Gvine will be 10 ft high and closed to start the summer.

How will the extreme rise in levels affect the fish in the slips? I'm sure the run off and muddy conditions will hurt but high water levels shouldn't hurt the fish that are suspended under the slips, right?

Marinas are always hit or miss on grapevine. When the lakes get high the marinas are best because then most of the brush in the lake is too deep.

i think slip fishing is over for the year.last 4 trips 1 catfish.o Crappie bites.i think they have moved out to main lake already. not to say you cant catch 3 or 4 in the slips but the mass i think have left the slips for the main lake just like the shad last week.
