Come by me all the way on plane or all the way off please. Only time I get a little miffed is a mid speed water plow or a wake boat with full ballast tanks throwing a surf wave. Even then I don't get too miffed, after all if I am in the situation I am fishing and happy!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

To answer your question. On Rayburn ,Yes you were wrong. It has no identifiable/marked "Boat Lanes".

Like Jarrett said, the only real lane is out from Calhoun over to Harvey but I have run the Bird Island/Indian Mounds run a bunch, I just chose not to last weekend because there were boats fishing in the run.

I would bet most of the boats you went by didn't even know they were fishing in an area where boats run sometimes.

We had a great weekend with nothing but nice and courteous folks that we met on the water.

I personally would have run toward the other side of the bridge and cut back across toward Harvey boat ramp. Kind of dangerous running behind that island with a bunch of boats fishing back there.

If you have to ask than you probably already know the answer.

Right or wrong, just remember you are responsible for any damages or injures from your actions.

I appreciate the feedback. For the record, I was not running WOT, 35-40 mph.

This same question was asked about Fork a while back. With people fishing in actual marked boat lanes. My opinion is if you fish a boat lane expect traffic. Doesn't seem like rocket science to me. However, many people still think you are in the wrong for blowing by someone fishing in even a marked boat lane. I guess the unmarked lanes on Rayburn are a little more of a gray area. Bottom line is that bass fishermen as a whole are an irritable bunch of folks. You are pretty much going to piss someone off no matter what you do. Just be safe and don't even worry about what other people think.

There are many areas on Rayburn like that. At this level they are "safe" to run but certainly aren't boat lanes. Canyons and deer stand are the same. Guys blast right through there in 4-6ft of water cause it's a short cut to the other side, often with boats very close especially on weekends.

Rather a guy come by all the way on plane trimmed up than slow down only enough to plow water 20-30 yards is close but not too close

Thats not a boat lane. The only reason people take that route is because they want to take the shortest route into Harvey. But that area is heavily fished and everyone knows it. You guys have to run within 30-40 yards of boats every weekend when you do it. If it was a marked boat lane thats one thing but its definitely not, and can get shallow at times, and its a local spot that everyone knows people fish.

So in my opinion you are in the wrong.

In his defense, I think it's marked on Vicks boat lane chip as a lane to run. Tons of guys purchase the chip before ever getting on Rayburn.

vicks boat lane chip does show it as a lane u can run. I see some run it, but most run the other side of bird island. people better check lake level before running some of them trails.
