I'm taking my boat down to SPI in July. Does anyone have anything to say about Jim's Pier? Is it a suitable place to berth my skiff for a week or so?

Bring money lots of it. They like to charge for everything. I think its 20$ to use the ramp and another 10 to park. Last year fuel was like 5$ a gallon. There are 3 public ramps on the island that are free. Use those.

It gets a bit more difficult if you actually want to have a boat slip though. Jim's was being rebuilt from scratch when I did this story on it - https://texasflycaster.com/monday-morning-on-the-island-sidewalk/ . They were actually closed when I talked to one of the guys then involved with the reconstruction ... I slipped my boat there for a week - free. Lone Star Outdoor News picked up on the story a few months later.
