It has been way too many years since I've been to Montana, but looking at the map, I remember that there is public access in many places along the Yellowstone river right there in Paradise Valley. One that comes to mind is Yankee Jim Canyon. The water through there is fast, and the fish are hungry.
Up in Big Timber, there are several ranches that will allow you to fish if you ask nicely. Blake Nursery is one of them. PM me, and I'll give you some names to drop that may help get you access to their waters.
Several branches coming in from the canyons, especially North of the highway & the Yellowstone.
Man, I'm jealous!!
Chico Hot Springs is a great place to visit in that area, too...

Big sky is real close to Yellowstone park with its many streams as well as Yellowstone river. But the Galatin river is right off the highway and is loaded with fish. Go there it's a no brainier. Also near the road you'll find an Orvis fly shop- they should be help on gathering Intel when you're there.
