Anyone fish Bastrop for catfish. I’ve never been but hoping to go in the next week or two. Tips or pointers very much appreciated. Thanks

I grew up on this lake as a kid. I've never heard much about catfish, but lots of black bass and hydrilla. At one time they were stocking it with Stripper which was fun, however they never reproduced.
Water is pretty warm, especially in the summer. I seem to remember 95 degree water in the dead of summer. If you were swimming, you would need to get out to cool down!

From J. P. Greeson's weekly fishing report........
BASTROP: Water stained; 61-65 degrees. Black bass are fair on dark soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on stinkbait, shrimp, and minnows. Yellow catfish are slow.
Just one more cast!
