Get the Stratic ci4,,,,,forget the rest.

I don't own a Ci4, but have fished with several. They are excellent reels. But last year, I was in a position where I needed to replace 3 spinning reels (Ned, drop shot & wacky) at the same time. For budget reasons I went with the Shimano Ultegra. I have not missed a thing.

Another vote for a Stradic ci4

I"ve been pleased with a Abu Garcia Revo SX in a 40 series.. I use it on my drop shot rod. if its good enough for Justin Lucas.. good enough for me.

I've been looking at the Stradic ci4 myself. Have a new spinning rod needing a reel and am wondering if its worth it or not.

Shimano Stradic ci4+ they are amazing brand new but once its broke in its even more amazing plus shimano spinning reels are known to have the best drag systems.

Stradic or Stradic ci4. I have the stradic and love it. Could not tell much difference in the standard and Ci4.

Count how many times the Stradic Ci4 was suggested on here and you have your answer. Yes it is worth it.

And, just a note that if you do select a Stradic Ci4+, go ahead and get the 3000 series over the 2500. They are both actually the same: same size, same weight, the 3000 just has a deeper spool so it holds a bit more line. More line capacity might give you a few more options.

Yes, they are pricey but I bet they last 2X as long as some of the cheaper units. Gosh, they are so low maintenance owing in part to being so well sealed against water intrusion.

Cheaper? Go with the $100 Shimano Nasci reels.
