Caught a fish the other day that measured 17 inches and I weighed it. scale said it was 4 oz lol I said no way, this was a fat healthy fish and I had just recently put new battery in it. Ive had this Rapala scale for about 10 years so I said time to get a new scale. What is a decent scale that's accurate without paying an arm and a leg. what is everyone using?

I see most pros using the Rapala touch scale, don't remember the price but I know its cheaper than a cull m rite. They sell quite a few using accu cull/connect scales, I use the Berkley tec 35lb

The new Rapala is pretty hard to beat for the money. Less than $50.

I didnt have great luck with the Rapala. Bought 2 and the last one still somewhat works. This one has been pretty good. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Accu_Cull_Digital_Scale/descpage-ACCUSCALE.html

I have been using Connect Scale, it is bluetooth with your phone. When compared to the actual weight when weighed, it is pretty darn close. It keeps track of where you caught your fish as well, number of fish culled, total weight of all fish weighed.

The only downside is you have to remember to remove the batteries when you are done for the day. Even though it is off, it is still looking for the blue tooth connection and will run the batteries down. Takes 2 AAA batteries and I just keep a couple of spares in case I forget.

Ive always had good luck with Berkeley scales. They are always within a couple ounces. I test them by weighing a gallon of water. A gallon weighs 8.34 pounds

Ive been using the larger touch screen Rapala, not the compact, for a couple of years. Its been about as accurate as you can get every time weve checked it. Weve fished a couple of big bass tournaments this year and its been within an ounce every time of the scales at weigh in. Last time we compared it, it was within a few hundredths of an ounce compared to the weigh in scale. Priced decent at around $50 and were not had any issues with it.

I use the Accu Cull and found it to be very close. It will weigh lighter than some scales and heavier than others, but its within an ounce or two.

I just pulled the trigger on Amazon for a Piscifun Digital Scale, based on the features and the preponderance of good reviews. The main complaint about digital scales in reviews is that they quit working after getting only moderately wet. This unit gets a submersion test before leaving the factory, apparently. So I'm giving it a shot. We will see how it performs in real life.

This one here has really served us well this year. It weighs a little light, no more than three tenths of an ounce, but is very simple to use, save weights, and will even tell you which numbered fish needs to be culled
