I had that engine till about 5 years ago, blew powerhead, had the guy at cedar creek rebuild it. It was about 4500 to rebuild if I recall. That was 6 years ago so...... And too bad yours isn't rated for 250 cause I could be talked into selling my 2012 pro xs. I kinda like that 4 stroke EAST TEXAS OUTBOARD REBUILD --- $4,500 1 year full warranty --- 2nd year 50% warranty rebuilt mine a year ago and no issues whatsoever took a month to get it done, but they did a great job on it. be sure to have them change out the "air compressor" --- put new one in, no matter the current condition. it will sure help the motor run much better.

Rebuild that motor. U can also buy drop on powerheads for less then 2k if u find right deal. The 2.5 motors are cheap to fix and run a long time!! Did this a few years ago.

Rebuild that motor. U can also buy drop on powerheads for less then 2k if u find right deal. The 2.5 motors are cheap to fix and run a long time!! Did this a few years ago. I have a garage full of spare 2.5 parts since u can pick them up so cheap!

No air compressor on a 200efi

Put a new Mercury 4 stroke on it Just cannot see investing so much on a 20yr old rig.....trying to get by cheapest as possible and still be able to fish. I would and then if you ever sell the boat just sell the motor separate, I know to many stories of having one rebuilt only for it to blow up again a year later. Those new motors sound like they are with you for life.

Does Red Ranger know about this? Yes, he knows. He told me to slap a new 4 stroke on it. I'm being frugal with his money, though. He loving longtime in the Philippines right now. He may need the extra cash in case a Lil' Red shows up in about 9 months.
