We lost a 5 right at the net. Never heard so many lost fish stories kind of weird. Everyone I know has a lost fish story from yesterday!

Our bite was weird. I think we were throwing around spawners and they were not aggressively biting the baits. Plus a lot of guys were cranking.

Our story was the same as the rest, short fish, lost a few at the boat, broke one off. Didnt practice, had a good time catching, just didnt find the good ones.

Anyone know how the winners caught them?

What was weird with our bite is the ones we caught made us really figure we had the right bait but couldnt locate enough productive areas, really think we should of branched out more as the boating pressure down south really got to the fish I think.

We had 2 keepers at about 1:45. By that time we had rolled through all the areas we planned to fish. We went and fished new water (to us). Pulled up on a spot and I caught a 7.5 pounder first cast and then my partner caught a 3 the next cast. Fished there another 30 minutes without a bite so ran back across the lake and I caught another 3 pounder with about 30 minutes until check in. Ended up 5th. We caught a good number of short fish. The quality keeper bites were hard to come by for us but the ones we got were the right ones.

After watching almost ever boat take off in front of us,lol, we went fishing. Pulled up to spot one after two boats just hit it and stuck a 3.5lber on a frog. She was stuck in the top of the bush and instead of pinning her and pulling up and netting her I tried horsing her out and pulled the hook. Left log cabin and went north where I found fish in practice. Put 2 in the boat in 5 min flipping do nothing banks. Went to another area and told my partner I shook off a good fish right there, flipped in, she smoked it and swung hard. Fought her for a few seconds and she came up and spit the hook. 5lber gone. parter missed a few and the rest is history. Last week in practice I could do no wrong. smh

we started right in the middle of s shad spawn.. shad flickering every where... we chunked spinner baits, chatter baits, flukes.. NADA.....
we struggles to get strikes... and when we did.. we didn't get them in the boat... wind kicked up... bite was tough... so we through the fish back int he lake knowing we didn't have enough weight to make a difference.. and since we took a zero on Fork, AOY was not something we are concerned with... so we took another zero and decided not to weigh in...

That lake will Humble ya

Our day started off great.... until the 3rd cast in. My partner hung a 5lber on a frog that got hung up in some of that flooded brush. The fish was just hanging there about 1/2 out of the water. Put the trolling motor on high, grabbed the net, netted the fish, and that when the cable on the foot pedal jumped off track and shredded. At first I thought it was completely broke off.. Missed another 3lber on that same stretch of bank. They trolling motor cable had 1 little thread holding the ball on the end of it on. The man upstairs was testing us I think... I messed with that trolling motor half the day. Lost all focus I had going in. Literally had to turn the pedal left or right slower then molasses on a cold day. Ran up north, but water looked really bad and we couldn't fish in the wind because I was afraid of the one little thread snapping off. At 11:00 we had the 1 five pounder. Pulled into a cove we've fished before and my partner caught another 4-5 lber. ended up catching our limit out of there. We knew we had a decent sack so @ 2:00 we decided to head back closer to weigh-in. I finally ended up catching 1 keeper about 3 lbs @ 2:56. Culled up at the last minute. Went checked in by 3:02. Got to the scales to watch a giant 30+ sack weighed in(congrats to those anglers). They had us beat by almost 10lbs.. But, after the week I had, then trolling motor issues, I'll take 2nd any time..... Now time to order and replace some trolling motor cables.
