The Upper Trinity Regional Water District reported Thursday a 350,000-gallon spill of partially treated wastewater from a Little Elm treatment plant into the northern reach of Lewisville Lake.

The spill occurred from about about 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the its Doe Branch Water Reclamation Plant, located at 27080 U.S. Highway 380 in Little Elm.

High stormwater inflows allowed partially treated wastewater to spill out prior to its final disinfection.

Cleanup is underway, and the spill did not impact municipal water supplies. However, people using private drinking water wells should boil the water (a rolling boil for at least one minute) for personal uses, including drinking, cooking, bathing and tooth brushing. Upper Trinity officials recommended private water well owners to have the well water tested and disinfected, if necessary, before returning to normal use.

You would think they would face some kind of discipline for this. Seems to happen every time it rains now.

Little Elm gets their water from Lavon. So we drink poo spills in Lavon. Dallas residents get to drink poo spills in LV.

That's probably from the landfill in Carrollton. Strong south wind brings in the stench.

I wonder how it affected the cat fishing?
