I have a ten yr old 997si. The unit works is accurate and reliable other then the gps puck connector. Doesn't stay on the pins very well. While running, the connector will slide off and lose gps signal. I have the original connector bracket that screws in place but I cant get the gps signal using the connector. Needs to much wiggling and finessing, I guess. The unit is over 10 yrs old and its time to replace. Hoping to get one more summer though. Any ideas?

without looking at it, it may have a loose wire on one of the connector pins or one of the pins, male or female, may have been pushed in. you could always try cleaning the connector pins, female and male, check to make sure they're not pushed in. apply dielectric grease in both sides and tape the cable down to secure it if/when you get a signal.
