Laker...The water clarity is good, and getting better with each trip. Gitter...I had probably 6-7 over a pound, so lets jut call it double digits In all the years I have fished Fayette I have only caught 1...that's one...last year on a night crawler...and it was small. Thanks Vogey!

If you want to catch Rio's, head to the dam/riprap wall. They are all over the rocks. They can be caught in about 3-8 ft of water next to the rocks. Be prepared to lose tackle or bring stout line because they love to get you hung up in the rocks.
My recommendation is to fish the single or scattered rocks just off the wall. I've caught some nice ones out there. Start maybe 200 yards from where the levee starts and make your way towards the power plant.

Thanks CH...That makes sense by the rocks. Do you also catch sunfish in that area ? I still have that picture of the giant bluegill you posted (in the trees) a while back...it's my benchmark...

Yes, you can catch a bunch of them out there too. The best time is around July - Sept. Some years the redears gang up in about 10-13 ft. of water out by the dam and they are almost always 1/2-1 lbers.. Last year was a bust but previous years have been consistent. You will get more bluegill near the rocks and the redears just outside the rocks. Here are some big ones from a few years ago. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-97284-9589-fish1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/04/full-97284-9590-fish2.jpg)

CH...That's just awesome ! Wonder why last year was a bust ? Did you not catch any there, or was it just slower than in the past ?

CH...That's just awesome ! Wonder why last year was a bust ? Did you not catch any there, or was it just slower than in the past ? I got to fish Fayette twice last year and I had a great day in July and a slow day in September. The year before that I had great days every time out from April till late October. Fished Fayette a few times that year. Side Note: How did you do yesterday?
