Has anyone ever fished green belt below ray Roberts? My wife and I have kayaks and were wondering how the fishing was?

When they are releasing water it can be really good. Don’t know how safe it would be in a kayak at that time though.

It can be good but there are some dangerous log jambs that can be pretty hairy if they are letting water out.

I've floated and fished all the way from the dam to the 380 greenbelt park and caught fish the whole way. it's been a few years but the fishing was consistent, i never caught anything more than a pound or two, but over the last couple years i have seen more gar and carp down there than anything else.
Cat fishing is good when the water is moving, and the crappie fishing is good as far as i have heard. (I've never crappie fished down there)

I tried it in my Hobie a couple years ago. It was beautiful, but didn't catch much. They were not releasing water when I was there so it was pretty shallow. I could only go about 1 mile before it became too shallow to fish (or pedal). Like cbeathard, I saw a lot of gar and huge carp.

If you time it to when they are releasing a moderate amount of water, it would be cool to float all the way to Lewisville...

Rumor is log jams would prevent that. You cant get too far up from Lville till its totally impassable. Been like that since the big floods in 14.

i second this, i floated this in 2013 right before summer ended and i went back to school. there were log jams even then.. had to get out and drag 2 or 3 times. never ran into super shallow water though.
