Lets talk what tools you keep in your boat. Ive helped many a people who dont keep tools in there boat. So figured start a thread on what others keep on em. And to see what Im missing in my small collection. I keep a set of Allen wrenchs, ratchet set, big and small crescent wrench, wire pliers, electrical tape, a screwdriver set, misc wrenches and some pliers. What tools do yall keep in the boat?

I don't keep a complete set of sockets, just common sizes including prop nut plus screwdriver with different heads, plyers and crescent wrench In addition, I have jumper cables in plastic bags, tow rope w/ snap links, spare prop w/wrench, heavy wire cutters for cutting hooks, spare bulbs for running lights, spare trolling motor rope and small 1st aide kit with a length of braid line for hook removal

I carry a complete socket set, screw drivers, 2x4 in case I have to change my hub on my prop, silicone sealant, some extra small machine scews/nuts/washers and some regular screws, electrical tape, fuses, wire connectors and small amount of spare wire, extra prop for TM, wire brush to clean battery connections, extra circuit breaker for trolling motor in case mine goes bad, jumper cables and zip ties. It sounds like allot but really does not take up too much room and has saved my butt a few times. I also carry everything I need to fully replace trailer wheel bearings in my car which includes floor jack, bearings, seals, grease, grease gun disposable gloves.

Make sure you have a flathead screwdriver big enough to release the tilt and trim in case it gets stuck. Mine got stuck all the way up once and I could not break the screw loose with the small screwdriver I had with me. Had to get towed in.

Not necessarily tools, just good things to have, but I always used to keep an extra plug, a small bag of wing nuts for my batteries, and a roll of soccer tickets (Toilet paper) for emergencies..

The best investment you can make regarding boat tools is a large stainless steel vice grip pliers. They are expensive but will do just about anything in a pinch.

Just basics. But definitely jumper cables can come in handy.

Jumper cables is the #1 thing to carry for if the cranking battery goes dead!

I just keep all my tools in a small sealed type hard case. cheaper than SS tools. Walmart has the cases in the camping stuff.
in it is pliers, interchangeable screwdriver, vise grips, crescent, elec tape, knife.

Autozone or oreily used to have a really good small electrical kit with all types of wire connectors, wire, fuses of all types, test light, needle nose pliers, elec tape and a bunch of other stuff. I carry that.

Then i have another small box with trailer stuff like tail lights and ss nuts, botls, screws trolling motor prop and nut, spark plugs, drain plug.

Sounds like alot but doesn't take up much room at all.

[Linked Image], and a flare gun with many flares, rope, and all of the above. This jumper in its case is the size of a legal pad. I stay on Amistad or Falcon and wouldn't leave the ramp without these.

I keep a long pair of pliers for removing hooks. I fish from my boat. I work on it at home.

Small set of sockets w/ a ratchet, multi-tool type deal, crescents, spare trolling motor nut, side cutters, elec tape, good headlamp and spare batteries, baby wipes, screwdrivers, cell phone chargers, etc.
I'd like to find a bottle of fishing talent to keep in the boat, but no luck yet.
