I went this past Saturday for the first time in 6-8 weeks and wow the water was low. It must have dropped 2' since my last trip. I just finished several boat projects so I was there mainly just testing everything out and not fishing. Couldn't stand it and I did fish about an hour in the late morning and caught 2 small ones. Everybody I talked to around the ramp said it was slow and they all claimed to have caught less than 5. I am sure somebody found them schooled up out deep, but for the most part it sounded slow - post spawn probably. But the drop in water level might be a factor too. We've had plenty of rain or enough at least that the drop must be intentional by the plant.

They did the same the last couples years at the same time. Not sure why though. We fish that lake at least a couple times a month. Be careful out there. My buddy hit a submerged stump in three fingers a couple weeks ago and put a 5ft. long gash down the bottom of his boat. Just got it out of the shop yesterday. And it wasn't anywhere near any visible stumps.

Can you mark about where that stump was and post a picture? Might save somebody else.

Its intentional for sure. My guess is something to do with bank vegetation.

I have theories only. One is to control grass, second is in the winter/spring they limit pumping from the Colorado River to save their allotment for the summer when it is needed the most and help to cool the lake. We have had a dry late winter/early spring in this area and the lake doesn�t have any main tributaries. The water level looks to be less then a foot low compared to past levels but they did have some rain since Saurday.

You can theorize until you are blue in the face about the way LCRA maintains lakes. I have never been able to figure it out.

I wasn't with him but next time i am in his boat i will check the GPS. He said he was out past the point that leads to Johhny's cove but i have not confirmed it.

A couple of years ago my line got snagged on something on a point in 6 feet of water out there. Ended up being a steel post that it�s top was about a foot under water. It took a little bit to pull the post out. I�m sure something like that could have done some damage.

Anybody know the water temp?
