I just turned some premo garlic dip bait into a punchbait using shredded cotton balls and was wondering if y'all ever heard of this or did it yall self?

As long as they are actual cotton and not synthetic, I cant see why it wouldnt work.
But we used to go grab cattail fluffs and keep them in a sealed ziploc bag when I was a kid for doing the same.
I say sealed ziploc bags, because there would always be spiders crawling around inside the bag (that came off the cattails).

Cattails is the best, but if you have some pillow batting, it works too. I have also used insulation once when I couldn't find any pillow batting. Good luck with it.
