Are there boat lanes on this lake? Is it open and safe to run? If not, what do you recommend?

No boat lanes. Lots of old hardwoods in that lake that you can't see, especially in the middle south of 176 and the whole north end. My suggestion is look at some maps and google earth for an area to fish, launch around there and take it easy. You'll see other boats moving around and can get a feel that way.
