Jason,if youre still on here, please tell me if this makes any sense;
I have 2-HDS9,gen 2s
This morning at Brownwood I put in, turn graphs on, like every other day, except my gps isnt .working (on either graph) has an alarm saying. No GPS fix,I have done soft resets and cant get anything to work. Both units are saying that theyre using their satellite. And they are linked via Ethernet

Im not near the guru that Jason is, but go to the Lowrance website and download the new update released on Friday. It has the fix you need that was caused by the GPS rollover on April 6th. All gen2s were affected, Touch & Non-Touch models.

My elite 7 hid works now after I did the update and my elite 9 ti seems to have auto updated when I was in wifi range but my HDS 5 gen 1+ is not fixed. I tried the gen 1 update and it showed an update error so I tried the gen 2 update and it loaded but I still get the "no GPS fix" error....?

Try down loading the Gen1 software from google chrome and then repeat the software update to your unit. Also go to your satellite screen and go to gps source and select this unit and set it at local. Not auto gps select and global.

Well hell, they were showing the gen1s to be OK and not needing the update the other day.  Took me forever to get the gen2Touch to work with my computer and have to do it again.

Thanks Jason, I tried the new Gen 1 software with patch and it loaded but did not work. Took off auto to this device and did not fix. Since this is a Gen 1 PLUS, supposedly Gen 2 software from the factory, I tried the Gen 2 with Gps patch software again and set it to this device and BOOM.... getting a 3D fix with 5-7 satellites! Thanks again!

I could not get the Gen1 patch to work on my units either. I tried to download the Gen2 patch and it stops halfway through download. I have tried 3 times with same result.

I gave up on my gen1, tried everything, reformatted the cards, different cards. Screw it... This is all it does and then it freezes up, I have to cut the master power cable to turn it off.
