I am thinking its time to sell my bass boat and go to a center console until the kids get older. I want something with a platform that allows fishing a few local bass tournaments. Anyone have a recommendation on a boat with a fishable back deck and a good livewell system?

Pathfinder 2200 Tournament. That's the bay boat that I run. Has 2 live wells in the back, 1 small one up front that's a live bait well . 2 rod lockers up front. Big deck front and rear.

I have a Scout 192 Sportfish.. which is more of a flats boat.. much better for bass fishing than a bay boat IMO. its 19' with a 150. If you can find a flats boat big enough for you.. I would do that over a bay boat

just my opinion

Epic 22SC. Large front and rear decks, rod lockers hold 14 rods and 12 rod holders between console, leaning post, and gunnels. 40 gallon aeriated live well, 10 gallon bait well.

I have a 2012 20' Skeeter ZX20 similar to this https://www.boattrader.com/listing/2012-skeeter-zx-20-bay-103477106/, but I have a helix 998SI at console and brand new helix 7 G2N DI at helm both networked. Also have 1 power pole on one side and a swim platform on the other so the wife can get in the boat. Had 32 hours on a Yamaha 150 when I bought it 2 years ago. I fish probably 2 times a week 3 seasons, but Pool is a small lake so hours will still be low. What I like: super shallow draft, jump seats in the back, very solid ride, easy to fish out of, and it'll do 50 or a bit more with just you. About 48 with 2 people and rod holders down the side. What I don't like: no lockable rod lockers and storage is not what a bass boat will give you. 80lb trolling motor isn't bad, but not what a 112 will give you and no iPilot.

I've actually thought about trading it out for a bass boat so if you are interested PM me. Not sure I'd sell it as it has a lot of positives, but I'd consider it.

I'd think about trading my bass boat for a Majek Extreme.

Majek Extreme workbook be a good choice. Pathfinder also has a hybrid called Fusion that would work good. Lake and Bay has some good ones too but they are more of a Florida market.

Love my SX220. When i was looking for my CC, it was either going to be a Ranger or a Skeeter. Found the Skeeter at the right price.

Cant go wrong with any of them. I can do anything in my CC that I could do in a bass boat and still ride 8 people comfortably when we want to go to the lake with friends or family.

Really cant go wrong with any of them, just depends what layout you like the best.

I have 13 baitcasting combos and 2 spinning rods in my rod box. Plenty of storage for all my essentials and my fishing buddies can bring all the gear they want.

I used to fish the BASS Invitationals and there was a guide who used a bay boat. Rode well in the rough stuff.

I have a center console fast bass boat but not what you are looking for unless you are looking for a boat with a potential of over 100mph.
Not? Not many are.

Thought about this for awhile, what would the biggest drawback of the Majek be?

I had a Majek extreme I loved that boat that been said it is not a bass boat. There are no rod lockers, you will get water in the floor from the floor drains everthing gets wet and slick, doesnt load easy as a bass boat after 2 yrs I went back to a triton.

All good points grumpy. Have never understood why most center console boats have no rod lockers. They otherwise would make good bass boats especially in rough water. Not fast but the ones I've fished out of rode smooth, lots of room, no carpet to get dirty and easy to clean.

No storage in those boats at all. They do run though!

The Skeeter bay boats are a good transition for a bass angler. They have decent rod lockers, storage and a large livewell. My favorite was the 2200 with a 250, but they quit making it.
